Question about wing features

Hello,

I am attempting to use the classifier to classify Drosophila courtship behaviors. I have made classifiers for chasing and attempted mounting which the classifier was able to learn very quickly and accurately!

However, as I was making the classifier for wingsong I noticed JAABA was having a much more difficult time accurately identifying the behavior so I went through the features in order to put more emphasis on the wing angle and other wing movements. However, when I looked through the features I noticed that none of them have “wing” in the name at all. I am wondering which features the program uses in order to detect wing angle/other wing features?

I tracked these videos using the Caltech Flytracker and when I look in the JAABA folders generated by the Flytracker I can see perframe features relating to wings such as “long_min_wing_angle", but cannot see these same features using the StartJAABA interface.

Hi Meghan,

When you create the project, you need to select "flies_wing" as the Target type. With this, you'll be able to see all the wing related features in JAABA.

Hi Mayank,

Thanks for your help, that would make sense that I needed to choose that option. However, if I do choose it and try to add files to the experiment directory I get errors that the program is having trouble finding/generating files. I am not sure where to get these files or override this function because whether I ask the classifier to generate the files or not, it always says "caching labels for experiment" indefinitely.

I think Meghan said she was using the caltech fly tracker - so she might need to use target type 'eyrun_flies'

Did you manage to solve the problem with the unrecognised file?

I tried to change the target type from 'flies_wing' to 'eyrun_flies' and I still get the same error message (see screen shot)
