Hi John,

My tiller delaminated last year.  I’m told J Boats in Europe don’t make them for the J92s anymore.  So I had one made out of resin, based on a mould of the original tiller.  It wasn’t cheap, but it looks good, it’s a bit lighter, waterproof, and works well.

Kind regards,

Charles.

Hi Charles-

If your goal is to inform other owners then they might be interested in the cost, the supplier contact info, and if the mould is available to buy or borrow.

I am compelled to comment because i just bought a tiller as well based on info from this forum.  I found anytiller had the correct demensions on file and had one at my door in 10 days for $325.  Id have been interested in non wood options and other might be in the future as well, depending on what "not cheap" means.

Happy new years!
Ian

I was also not satisfied with my tiller and made a mould from the original one. Then make the new one carbon.

Hi Ian,

Many thanks for your message.  I skipped on the details as I didn’t think they would be useful in terms of supply.  I live in Malta (south of Sicily) in the Mediterranean.  As you can appreciate postage and packing to the USA could be quite expensive, and delivery may take several months unless you use one of courier companies.

In terms of cost I paid €767 (approx. $695) including taxes (VAT), with this I got design and fabrication of the new tiller, painting, and installation with its previous fittings.  So looking at the Anytiller website, I can confirm that it wasn’t cheap 💸.

If you are still interested, I can arrange an introduction to the fabricator.

Kind regards,

Charles.

Wow.  What a beautiful tiller!   Can throw away your tiller cover too!  Not sure if I'd spring for something that fancy - so may look around over the winter.   The nice thing abot H & L was that they would make it finished or unfinished and at a very reasonable price.   I made one from scratch years ago for my S2 - but it was not curved so pretty easy to fabricate.
