Anyone repower their J92? If so what did you go with? Understand from Yanmar 1gm10 no longer available.

I had mine rebuilt. It wasn't cheap, but I didn't find a better alternative.

One of the local 92's repowered about ten years ago with a Beta Marine 2 cyl. Back then, with professional installation it was over $10K.
If I was doing it today I'd either do a SailDrive (quieter, smoother and less drag) or if I wasn't keeping the boat forever, I'd take all that weight out and use an outboard. With the open transom an outboard would be pretty easy on the 92.

Try the Nanni N2.10, fits right in, has exactly the same size as the 1GM10, is twin cylinder, indirect-cooled.

The J/88 has a Yanmar 2YM15 (13 hp) with an SD20 Saildrive.
The fuel tank is 15 gallons.

Is there not some option for the 88 to have an electric motor? Or am I confused? (more so than normal…)

yeah they have the oceanvolt system option.. I got a quote from Oceanvolt, $22k for the drive unit, batteries and controller. They say on a full charge good for about 20miles at 5kts.

I will mount a new Beta marine 16.
The 1GM10 is still running but more power is always welcomed.
