Interior/Exterior table
I can move the table to the cockpit when needed.   I was trying  to keep the table stand light for racing so I just used stanchion hardware. As well, I did not want to make any holes where I could see them just in case I did not like the idea. So for now I just attached the based under the cushion and in the cockpit under one of my line bags under my jib winch.

Bar

Created this insert to hold 6 drinks while the Bartender mixes down below.  Included is a Cell phone holder (used for countdown timer and music for blue tooth speaker).

Added a window/screen from another sailboat that was being scraped.  Painted the rim and added to where I want to add a berth for the kids when we go cruising.

In Ireland you're going to need an umbrella too. But not this week.

Cheap diver.  (http://www.cheap-diver.com/)  I use this to clean the bottom. It has far surpassed my expectations.  Being cheap I saw the price of this and then tried to make my own.  It is worth it to buy this product since the material it is made out of is a grity mesh (1200 girt it seems) that works way better then my homemade attempt.   Two people can clean the entire hull minus the rudder and keel in less then 5 minutes.

Shitty Upgrade...But so worth it.

Finally removed the head and replaced it with a porta poti.  My Wife would always complain about the smell. As well, while we sailed you can smell it coming out of the vent near the shrouds. We discharged and cleaned it but would still smell. I even discharged and rinsed it multiple times before I removed the setup and still found that the piping was 30% full of  disgusting waste water that seemed to be in it for years when it was removed.  It sucked removing the entire setup. Took a very long shower afterwords and even jumped in off the dock once I was done.

Super happy to get it out. The entire rig felt very heavy. I regret not weighing it. But I feel my waterline went up 1/2 inch higher after removing it.

The new setup is much easier to use and since it closes off the waste compartment with an airtight seal. We get no smell.

Here is a pic of the entire rig removed.

When I’m cruising the boat I made up some plywood boards that I put across the main cabin to make a double berth. It’s a hassle to set up but it’s a nicer sleeping arrangement for a couple and it’s better than sleeping with the head in the Vberth.  Does anyone else have this setup and come up with a slicker way of doing it?

My boat does not currently have the boards for the v-berth.  Thinking of adding this to aid with organization, and get things away from the through hulls.  Does anyone have a picture of their setup and info on the thickness of the plywood?  seems like a long fore/aft run without much support.  What thickness is the plywood? I'd like to keep the weight down and this is mainly just to hold sails, but I could use some space for sleeping for an occasional multi-day regatta.

I have  wood v berth boards. 3 boards with what looks like 2x2 stringers. A little flexible but fairly light. Slats appear to be 1/2" or 5/8" plywood that is coated with epoxy. I took the box protecting the transducer and through hulls out. I'll take a picture next time I'm out to the boat.

interesting,  i was thinking of 2 approx. right triangles next to each other, the 3 board setup might make more sense.

Hi All,

Would like to see a picture or 2 of the V-berth structure underneath the boards...  is there a piece of plywood vertical, running down the middle that holds up either side of 2 right triangles?  My boat did not come with anything in the bow... and I plan on building a box to protect the thru-hull instruments from being stepped on.

Thanks,
Dan Stone

We have a single support along the centerline, and it is a beam with a T-shaped cross section.  The resting points have notches to keep it very secure.  The boards are right triangles, as you mention.  I’m sorry I don’t have a shot handy of just the support.

Awesome, thanks.  I can see how that support would work.  I also see your holding tank is in the bow and not behind the head sink unit like mine is.

Winch Aesthetics...

I am a dork!!! Just added some 1/4 inch $5 red vinyl pin stripping to my old Harken winches to make them look nicer.  Took me 5 minutes and I feel it makes a big difference on the aesthetics of the boat.   The 2nd picture shows the difference before and after.

Here you can just see the t bar in my bow. It’s purely for resting the boards on and I do t believe it adds any structural integrity to the boat, I could be wrong. But yes it just a T made of 2 long boards. If you live near me I would let you have it for free as I don’t store anything up there.

Looks good and more aerodynamic- maybe worth 1/10th knot upwind.😀

I’m wanting to paint my interior. Was going to paint the ceiling with an acrylic satin porch paint. And the inside of the hull aft and forward with Interlux bright sides. Anyone had experience here?

Hi, I've used Hempel Multicoat to repaint the interior. You can use a primer first, or it acts as it's own primer if you do 2 coats. Really nice tough satin finish, easy to clean and recoat if it gets bashed. Big 2.5l cans are much better value!

I painted the whole inside of my previous boat (J/35) with one part Interlux brightside.  Stinks to high heaven, but really came out nice.  I made it semi-glass by adding 1/2 the flattener that they recommended for "satin".  That was a while ago.  For those that know the old J/35, I took the "rug" off the sides in the main cabin and painted it.  Looked great.

I expect to do that with Triple Play next year.

For all you guys trimming out your winches, I'm jealous :-)...(looks great BTW)...

I've spent the winter drilling a million holes or when bad core is found, peeling it out and drying out my deck in many places.  Now I'm on to the putting core back and glassing everything.  I tried to hire somebody to do some (or most) of the work back last August but everybody was booked until April!

I own heat lamp bulbs and ceramic "bulbs" that vary from 50 watts to 250 watts.  It turns out that these bulbs exist to warm your lizards, chickens or whatever rodent pet you own :-).  I also ordered this small fan from MoreBeer! to blow air into areas to dry it out... Maybe this summer I'll figure out what it's really supposed to be used for.

Rob, I love the black bulkhead with the green stripes. What materials are those? Paint? Vinyl?

I only did it match my sails, which are black with green camber lines. It’s just an external car vinyl wrap. pretty quick to apply yourself. I done my old boat, lasted years, doesn’t chip or damage.  tides things up a bit, and is pretty simple to change, when you feel like a freshen up.
