All,
I found some issues with out keel bolts on Zaff recently, upon further investigation, we need to replace a few of them. Local options are not great, i've gotten estimates for around $5k US per bolt. we need to do at least 2, likely 4.
The search for something better has led me to a surprising conclusion, that making a new keel might be the more economical option. The problem with this option is that the drawings for the keel don't have much detail regarding the interface between the boat/sump and keel. A picture would help clarify what is down there.
Alternatively, does anyone know of a wrecked j92 sitting rotting somewhere that might want to be a donor keel for this project?
thanks, and check your keel bolts!
