Good morning,
Just ordered an Em-Trak 953 after a fair amount of debate and research.  The order went through and then two days  latter I get a nasty gram from Defender that they will cancel the order in three days if I do not send back the required form.  The one that was not mentioned at all in any discussions with them.  Simple enough, although I am not sure how to fill in the serial number on a unit I do not have, but I need some measurements from the mast head to side decks, bow, and stern.  Does anyone have them from their AIS Purchase?

Thanks

Check whether you should be measuring from the mast or where the gps antenna is.  Also not the end of the world if you’re off by a couple feet.

I just filled the form as if the antenna were centered in the boat. Some units allow you to adjust the parameters other than mmsi

Dear all,
I was exploring AIS options these days and I just ran into the Quark-Elec A051T AIS Class B WiFi & NMEA 0183/2000 transponder AND multiplexer.
That means that you have (for less than 600€) in one device both an AIS transponder and a wifi multiplexer that transmits all NMEA data to other wifi devices (tablets, mobile phones, etc).
Did you consider that option? Anyone had experienced this or other Quark-Elec devices?
Thanks

Paolo
