I would like to update Backstay, Mainsheet and Traveler systems.

What is the hot set up for Backstay, Mainsheet and Traveler ?

I don't know how "hot" it is but this latest permutation of Rag's mainsheet/fine-fine-tine is working well.  I trim my own main (well, I trim everything) and we get a bit of wind around here.

I installed Harken's windward sheeting adaptor right over the stock traveler car when I first got the boat.  As long as I keep it rinsed out it works fine.  I replaced the Torlon balls for the first time two seasons back - which was a RPITA.

I used the stock 6:1 mainsheet for a couple years, then changed it to 4:1 with 4:1 fine-tune, rarely used the fine-tune so tried 5:1 for awhile, then the current 5:1 with 2:1 fine-tune as pictured.  I like this latest arrangement because I can play the 10:1 upwind (with one arm).  I usually have enough power, and the lesser amount of purchase on the fine-tune moves the boom enough to not have to pull several times (if that makes sense).

How do you like the Harken's windward in light air. Isn't it a bit unstable with no or little pressure.

Also very interesting the Karver furler for the regular large shoulders Asail. Does it work OK ?

Hi Max,

Yes, in light air and waves the traveler car rolls back and forth, which can drive you nuts.  I tie a slipped half-hitch around the standing part of the control line (right at the cam cleat) and that temporarily holds the car in place.  Alternatively, before I put the fine-tune back on, I routed the traveler control lines through those cam cleats and could "fix" the traveler car that way.
