See the attached diagram for details of the foot braces I had made for Thin Man.

They are made of fiberglass and are layed up over a template. The radius of curvature at the top is roughly 1/2"-1", and the radius at the mounting flanges is probably 1/4".

I'm in the process of relaminating my cockpit floor and adding improved footrests.  I bought a 40"x40" piece of 1" thick high density Corecell online from Noah's Marine, cut it into three 13" wide pieces, laminated the three pieces together, and cut that laminated section into four triangular footrests.  After trimming the ends off on a diagonal and shaping the corners up a bit, I'm laying three layers of 10 oz E-glass over them.  Once that has set up I will be epoxying them to the floor and then placing one additional layer of glass on them to fair them to the floor.  After final fairing and sanding, I'll be using Kiwi grip for my final surface.  Here are a couple progress photos.

The foot braces are awesome. The crew were concerned that it would make maneuvering in the cockpit difficult. In practice, they were _never_ (not once) a problem. 

They have the delightful side benefit of providing a safe place to park a bottle of water or a handheld device (GPS, VHF, flashlight). 

The only change I intend to make is to move them closer to the center of the cockpit for better ergonomics when heeled hard over.
