Prior to this regatta, Pier Pressure (J92S), received a new Baltoplate
bottom. With fairly light winds of 6-10kts, we were not too
optimistic about a great finish. Class A consisted of 2 J-35's, 2
Melges 24's, an X-372, and ourselves. Three times around a W/L
course. The boat sailed well, we felt competitive upwind, and fast
downwind. During the second upwind leg we hit a few shifts, rounded
in the hunt, and really put some time on the others downwind. Lap 3,
we sailed consistently, and finished just 1:30 behind one of the
J-35's, taking 1st in class and 1st in fleet. Our first bullet with
the new boat, Merry Christmas to us!! This was a three race regatta
of which we only sailed the one race on Sunday. Results can be found

glad to hear about your successful race ! these are the conditions we
can do best as well (6-8 knots) as long as the water is flat - of
course, provided we play well the shifts and we stay clear !
and what's this magic Baltoplate (for us across the pond...) ?
cant believe you're still racing overthere ! here just bloody cold and
plenty of snow

We sail year round here in New Orleans. The Mardi Gras Regatta is up
next. Some of our best sailing weather is fall, winter and spring.
The summer should be our off season.

Baltoplate is a very hard, racing, antifouling paint. I've always
used it on my past boats, but the S came with VC Offshore. Only time
will tell if the Baltoplate is the magic component.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to All
