Hello Fellow J Boat Enthusiasts and those looking to join the club,

We will be listing our J/42, (Hull #29) Stout Heart ex Thylacine, ex Dolphin, for sale this Summer. I thought I would put it up here in case someone looking for a special boat comes across it first.

Not only is she in great shape with continuous upgrades, she has a beautiful carbon fiber hard dodger curtesy of the previous owner. Other highlights include carbon mast and deep keel, recent paint on topsides, mast and boom, lots of great sails, fairly recent rod rigging and chainplates, new Jefa lower rudder bearing and sleeve, monitor wind vane, and new full Victron lithium system.

If you're here, you probably know how amazingly J/42's sail, or would like to find out! Let me know if you have any questions. We will be listing later this Summer but in the mean time, I can send info and pics as needed. We hope to find her a home with someone who will enjoy her as much as we have. Price isn't set yet but if you are looking, you know the range they fall in.

Paul sold the original Dolphin that was Henry Morgan’s boat that was donated to the Naval Academy, assume it’s the same boat?  We have hull #25 and pinch ourselves as we age not knowing how much longer we will have her.   J/42s are such a fantastic boat.   Last fall we had a sailor aboard who found a whole new respect for J boats after sailing our boat, Full Circle.  It was blowing 15-20 and a glorious November day on the Chesapeake.  He couldn’t get over how she handled!  We all know that though right!  Good luck!

Hi Sue, I do believe it's the same boat. It sounds like it had quite a life with Henry. It is certainly the best all around boat I've sailed! We're sad to see her go but are closing this cruising chapter and know she will inspire other sailors as much as she has us.

Folks are always curious about the dodger, here's a pic. We've really loved having it, especially on passages.
