J42 Ice Box Question - For Fridge Upgrade

Hello All,

Does anyone know the approximate cubic feet of the J42 ice box compartment ?  

Second, how well did TIP insulate this ice box compartment? -- I have #17 so it was an earlier build.   From cruising experience, It seems pretty well insulated but if anyone has more info that would be helpful.

Considering a refrigeration upgrade.

Hi Jim, Our ice box on ID approx. 28X24X13, or roughly 6.3 cu feet. Refrigeration plate occupies about 2 cu feet inside.

I completely rebuilt my fridge about 7 or 8 years ago. When I told the old box out, I found about 1.5" of insulation, indifferently glued to the box.
