I have hull # 1 Rod Johnstone's boat. I needs to go to a new home. $2000 if you Want the trailer $1000 if you Don't. I can deliver for cost. It will need new tires if going a very long way. She sailed recently and the motor runs fantastic. I run an RV Repair business and need something less work and more fun. We are in Sevierville, tn for planning purposes. Pictures to follow.

Dude!  You are not helping our comps!

Just kidding, I just bought a 1979 Force 5 on a trailer for an embarrassing low cost.  Been sitting to the field for years.

I would certainly entertain a small trailer sailor. Dreaming of a Lightening or a Laser... I need the sailing, not the project.

I was tracking your boat on FB Marketplace when it was first posted. Ironically I was selling a Lightning at the same time.

Reading some online conversations about the boat, the main issue for potential buyers is the condition of the hull. Given that the hull is cored, repairing damage can be very expensive. Also, people think that water intrusion into the deck spreads well beyond the water intrusion area. This means potentially thousands of dollars of repairs.

I know that it is hard to spend money on a survey for a boat that you are trying to sell for $1000. But it might be worth the effort to get a survey on just the hull, deck, and bulkhead. This would establish some boundaries on what the new owner of the boat can expect to pay to make sure the hull, deck, and bulkhead are sound.

Hopefully you can find someone willing to take on this project. It looks doable to me, with boats in good condition selling for $15-$20k.

I am a time sailor and Boatswainsmate in the Coast Guard. I have sailed everything from a styrofaom boat from sears to the CGC Eagle. She has not been underwater and the decks are solid. She has just been neglected since covid.
