1. UIUC-CSSA 2011 New Student Handbook 新生手册发布

历经两个月的精心准备，由CSSA学生事务部、外联部、宣传部联手打造的2011新生手册，终于编写完成、正式发布！

在去年新生手册的基础上，2011新版做了如下改动：

1、修订了一些的错误，更新了所有信息、链接；
2、文字部分重新排版，阅读更加舒适；
3、重新进设计了封面以及内页的图片；
4、更新了CSSA赞助商信息和内容，涉及保险、房地产、银行、汽车、餐饮、维修、购物、旅游、医疗、服务等诸多领域，为大家推荐更多选择。

新生手册汇集了历届同学们对UIUC 生活、学习各个方面经验的总结。可以说读罢此书，就会从一个对美国和香槟生活一无所知的stranger，变成一个在各方面游刃有余的“老玉米”。

2011 新生手册由以下几部分组成：第一章：学校介绍，包括如何办理各种手续和学校各种资源。第二章：个人理财，介绍有关银行开户的知识。第三章：住房，包括各种租房须知以及房源介绍。第四章：交通，介绍香槟地区的公共汽车、火车、大巴以及个人买车须知。第五章：餐饮购物，关系民生的每一个方面。第六章：娱乐，帮助大家玩转香槟！

UIUC-CSSA 2011 New Student Handbook 新生手册发布

CSSA has dedicated two months into renewing the 2011 Cornfield Survival Guide. Now it's done and available for all of you.

Based on the previous version and experience, the 2011 Cornfield Survival Guide has 
1. Corrected mistakes and updated with newer information and links
2. Organized its composition for readers easier to read
3. Redesigned a new cover and added more photos within articles
4. Updated the CSSA sponsors' information, including insurance, housing, banking, cars, restaurants, shopping, traveling, medical treatments, various services, etc.

The 2011 guide has gathered students' experience in living and studying in UIUC. We believe that this guide provides more than enough information for you, the new students. (Enough information for you to get around campus like the experienced ones)

The guide consists of six chapters.
Chapter 1: University- Introduction of University of Illinois, including procedures beyond arrival and UIUC's all kinds of resources;
Chapter 2: Financing- Information of having personal banking accounts;
Chapter 3: Housing- Presentations of the must-know conditions and qualities of housing and various housing sources;
Chapter 4: Transportation- Recommendations of preferable ways to get around the cities and the must-knows about buying cars;
Chapter 5: Food and Shopping- Local restaurants and shopping;
Chapter 6: Local Attractions and Other Resources- Get around Urbana-Champaign and have fun.

2. CSSA 2011-2012年度打折卡即将发售

3. 中秋晚会节目“香槟新闻”招募

时间转瞬即逝，CSSA再一次开始为一年一度的中秋晚会做准备。为了达到更好的互动与创新，我们决定在今年的中秋晚会中采纳来自广大学生和师友们的意见。

同学们的意见与想法可以来源于课业生活，日常话题，甚至是发生在我们大家周围的事情。

大家可以用word (1997-2003)文档或txt格式，鼓励大家随想随寄，把想到的事情用最纯粹的语言表达给我们，我们将会经过商讨略做改动。

Bio: Meisong Tong received the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from Arizona State University (ASU), Tempe, in 2004. He used to be a Visiting Research Scientist at the Center for Computational Electromagnetics and Electromagnetics Laboratory (CCEML), Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE), University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) until 2010.
