Dear J-LINCers,
This has been a phenomenal year for J-LINC thanks to your dedication and creativity. We engaged 70 families in twelve very unique and innovative experiences that were overwhelmingly positively received by parents! That is cause for a huge yasher koach! We are also very grateful for the insights you shared in your end of Semester 1 Reflections! These are so very helpful for us to gauge next steps and be able to report to Covenant on the remarkable progress everyone is making!
We will be sending out a meeting wizard to determine the CoP sessions for October and December, and your coaches will be in touch to set up your fall pre-experience coaching conversations.
Thank you to those that participated in our recent CoP meeting at The Brooklyn Children’s Museum. We would appreciate if you would fill out the CoP reflection here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1vqzFK7BXNr1phPaNH_ob3wt3jQFpdkKlQnQ2gE-mKKg/viewform.
We missed those of you who were not able to join us – please look for your gift card in the mail to purchase a book for summer reading. Attached please find the materials we used for the CoP session.
Some of you may want to follow up with Kinneret Kohn, the museum educator about future programming with the museum. She can be reached at: kk...@brooklynkids.org
In addition the Museum’s blog site is chock full of great information:

· All About the Brooklyn Block Lab
· Blog posts relating to play and early learning
I mentioned to some of you that there are other Jewish children’s museums in LA and Detroit. The Zimmer Museum in LA has a broader mission to bring Jewish values of social action, community, family, and respect to everyone in the community. Check them out and see the kind of programming they offer.

On a personal note, I am off to Israel from July 6-16 and taking vacation July 20-August 3. While I am in Israel, I am participating in the icenter/WZO’s First International Dialog on the Israel Educator. I hope to be bringing the perspective of the young child and their families to this conference, as well as having an opportunity to explore what is necessary for us as educators of young children and their parents to engage them with Israel in innovative ways.
If you have questions while I am away, please be in touch with your coaches or Rachel,
I hope you have an opportunity to rejuvenate and relax over the summer!
May it be a wonderful summer for all,
Shellie
