Dear J-LINCers,
We are looking forward to connecting with you as a community of practice on Tuesday afternoon (1/27). You all have been hard at work designing and leading the second semester of J-LINC family experiences, and this CoP session will be an ideal opportunity to check in with one another and reflect on the process together.
Given everyone’s hectic schedules and the fact that several of you were planning to participate remotely, our team has decided to make this a VIRTUAL session rather than hold it at our Manhattan office. The meeting will run for two hours instead of three. Please see meeting details and instructions for joining below:

J-LINC COP: TUES. JAN 27, 1:30 PM – 3:30 PM
1. Navigate to jewishedproject.adobeconnect.com/jlinc
· There is no special login. Select the “enter as guest” option and type your name when prompted so we can identify you. · If you have a working webcam, please turn it on!
2. Connect your audio by dialing (866) 445-1123 / conference code 952 011 3711
Step by step instructions: · Upon entering the AdobeConnect room, you will see a popup, “Would you like to start audio conference with this meeting?” Click YES. · Another window called “Join audio conference” will pop up. Please select the second option (“Dial in to the audio conference via phone”) and click DONE. · Using a nearby phone, dial (866) 445-1123. · On prompt, enter code 952 011 3711 followed by the pound button.
---------------------------------------------------------------- A few notes… - If there is no way for you to access a computer on Tuesday afternoon, you can simply call in using the same instructions in step 2 above. - If you have never attended an Adobe Connect meeting before, it is recommended to test your connection beforehand at http://jewishedproject.adobeconnect.com/common/help/en/support/meeting_test.htm |
On Monday, I will email out some attachments for you to be able to reference during the CoP session.
In order to help us reflect at this session, we hope to make use of video documentation of your J-LINC family experiences as a tool. We would like your permission to be able to share a few clips with the group (not to worry, short snippets only!). In case you don’t feel comfortable sharing video documentation of your sessions, please let me know so we can respect your wishes.
If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask. If you anticipate needing some tech support, I am happy to do a run-through and answer your questions on Monday or on Tuesday prior to the session.
Although nothing can replace meeting face-to-face, AdobeConnect is a powerful tool that we are piloting. We look forward to having a meaningful conversation and also welcome your feedback/impressions on the pros and cons of this technology. Given that the January CoP will be held online, it is important to have as full a representation as possible at the following CoP gathering: March 24, 1-4 PM.
As always, thank you for your valuable work and for your commitment to being a reflective practitioner.
Shabbat Shalom,
The J-LINC Team
