Developers, use issues and inform about work in progress

Dear fellow developers,

if you're working on some code and you want to get it to the next release please use JIRA issues and tell the community about them. Otherwise it will be hard to plan it and your code changes might not be considered to get in in time.

Please set also your issues to the correct state, if you're working on it set in In Progress, so people planning the release can ask you what to do with it.

If you create pull requests please add a hyperlink to the according JIRA issue, and vice versa, add a hyperlink to the pull request as comment to the according issue.

There will be a development sprint open for each upcoming release and your issues should be included. This way it is always possible to get an overview about the progress and state.

The remaining time mentioned in the sprint is just a rough estimation, it can easily happen there are still 40 days remaining but the release is planned in the next couple of days.

I will send notes in this mailing list about such plans, please watch this.
