We went out to eat. I told our server that it was our anniversary, and he pretended that it was the best news he had heard all day. I told both friends and strangers that it was our anniversary. They said complimentary things. Sometimes I overshared and got sentimental, but people still smiled and politely congratulated me.
This is the point where I should post a picture, along with some words about how she is an awesome, wonderful, talented, beautiful human being, that she has helped me grow in emotional and spiritual maturity, that she is an example as well as a friend. I should say that I am proud that she is the mother of our son, her love helps me understand how God loves me in spite of my flaws, and so on. All of this is true.
I am proud that I am married to a woman who will let, even encourage me to say these things that I believe to be true. I am thankful to have such a partner in life, love, and ministry. And I hope, both for our own church and for our denomination, we will become the kind of church that says congratulations to everyone who shares news of their anniversary.
This is awesome, and a totally expected and is a shared sentiment. I hope that God will grant you a great many more anniversaries. I am so happy that you guys wandered across my path and into my life in a myriad of ways.
Happy (Belated) Anniversary.
Paul R. Verkuil, the tenth Chairman of the Administrative Conference of the United States, was sworn in by Vice President Biden on April 6, 2010. Today marks the one-year anniversary of the President Emeritus of the College of William & Mary and former Dean of the Tulane and Cardozo Law Schools' appointment to lead the Administrative Conference of the United States.
Since "starting up" the Administrative Conference, a "public-private partnership designed to make the government work better," the Chairman has reinvigorated the agency and the administrative law and regulatory community: speaking at and collaborating on events and symposia, convening plenary sessions and committee meetings, cohosting workshops (with federal agencies, the Administrative Law Review, the ABA, the Brookings Institute, and the US Chamber of Commerce) about topics such as Retrospective Review, Regulatory Reform and other interagency initiatives, and leveraging innovative technology (webcasting public meetings and use of social media) to engage the public, government entities, academia and private industry.
Under the Chairman's leadership, the Administrative Conference, composed of 10 Council members and its public-private Assembly of 150 members, passed a recommendation in December. Currently the Conference's six committees are collaborating on projects that include Government Contractor Ethics, Legal Issues in E-Rulemaking and FACA in the 21st Century. The 54th Plenary Session has been set for June 16-17, 2011.
The Administrative Conference of the United States is an independent federal agency dedicated to improving the administrative process through consensus-driven applied research, providing nonpartisan expert advice and recommendations for improvement of federal agency procedures. Its membership is composed of innovative federal officials and experts with diverse views and backgrounds from both the private sector and academia.
Ever wanted to know the wedding anniversary names and gifts by year? Here's a list of the appropriate present to give for each of the anniversaries. We've included a complete list of all the traditional names and equivalent gift suggestions for each of the anniversary years from a first anniversary through to an eightieth. We also have some fun and interesting facts about anniversaries and their history.
The celebration of wedding anniversaries dates back to Roman times when husbands gave their wives a silver wreath for 25 years of marriage, and a gold wreath for 50 years. Twentieth century commercialism then led to the addition of more gifts to represent colour and names for other years. By the 1930's there was a material or symbol representing the year as a gift suggestion for the first year and milestone years such as 10th, 20th, 25th and 50th. Over the years more were added and the gift list updated and modernised by various American and British greeting card companies.
British couples can receive a message from the Queen for a 60th, 65th and 70th anniversary, and every year after that. The end of World War Two is reflected in the number of messages sent - in 2005 thousands more diamond wedding messages were sent due to the large number of marriages as soldiers returned home from the war.
Some British couples have held Guinness World Records for marriage. In 2006 the world's longest living married couple were Mr and Mrs Jones from South Wales whose wedding in 1923 was 83 years ago. In 2015 the record for the longest every marriage was held by a British couple - Mr and Mrs Chand from Bradford who were married for almost 91 years.

Casey and I celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary last week! I made him a cake to celebrate! Carrot Cake is our number one FAVORITE cake. I decided to try the recipe from The Magnolia Bakery cookbook my neighbor gave me.
In a large bowl, on the medium speed beat the cream cheese and butter until smooth (about 3 minutes). Add the vanilla and beat well. Gradually add the sugar, 1 cup at a time until smooth and creamy. Cover and refrigerate the frosting for 2-3 hours to thicken before using. Do not keep it in the fridge any longer or it will be too hard to frost!
Beautiful! I love that you put the date on it. My boyfriend and I are celebrating 4 years in a couple weeks, I think I might use that idea on a brownie type cake, he loves chocolate/brownie anything haha!

"Happy Anniversary" is the thirteenth episode of the second season of Angel and the thirty-fifth episode in the series. Written by David Greenwalt and directed by Bill L. Norton, it was originally broadcast on February 6, 2001, on The WB network.
Cleaning up their new office, Wesley and Cordelia talk about their future as investigators without Angel and most likely without enough clients to keep their business going. The two decide to keep the name Angel Investigations as Gunn walks in fresh from posting flyers. They find out the phone line is still disconnected, which is quickly followed with the power going out.
At the Hyperion Hotel, Angel awakes to the sounds of the Host singing down in the lobby. He tells Angel about a "normal-looking" guy who came to sing at Caritas whose aura literally knocked him out. He envisioned the world would be ending the following night and the man has something to do with it. The man left the bar without speaking to the Host and he has no idea who he is, where he is, or how he'll destroy the world. The Host came to Angel for help because Angel is a champion. Angel initially refuses to help but eventually goes along.
Wesley, Gunn, and Cordelia mope about their job troubles. Virginia comes by with food, champagne, and a case they can take on to make a lot of money: a demon is threatening a wealthy family, and has slain their eldest son.
Denise confesses to her friend that she has to break up with Gene because things aren't working out. However, as its their anniversary that night, she still plans to go through with the romantic evening, which includes having sex with Gene. He overhears her and returns to the lab, dejected.
While getting directions to Gene and the physics lab, Angel is attacked by the Lubber demons. The Host identifies them as a species of demon that are awaiting a Golden Child who will end the world. Angel reasons that the promised one is Gene, and that the demons are protecting him.
When Angel arrives at the physics lab, he finds that both Gene and his equipment are gone. Meanwhile, Gene sets for a romantic dinner in his apartment. As they race after him, the Host asks Angel if a part of him wouldn't mind if the world ended that night. The Host tries to persuade Angel to discuss his recent descent into darkness and how he's switched from assisting the innocent to punishing the guilty, but Angel doesn't reply. After some prodding, Angel eventually vents his feelings about his supposed redemption, Wolfram & Hart's attempts to turn him to the dark side, Darla's resurrection then siring, and the fact that people expect him to lighten up despite everything. Darla's opportunity for redemption was taken, and he swears to kill her and destroy Wolfram & Hart. Since his friends are only human and won't be able to handle it, he believes that firing them was the right move.
Meanwhile, Gunn kills the demon that he and the others were hired to protect a rich family from. With the family reunited, Wesley uses deductive reasoning to reveal the real truth behind the murder: one of them hired the demon to kill the eldest son and heir and thereby gain control of the family money.
Angel and the Host fight several Lubber demons trying to prevent them from stopping Gene. Gene proceeds to freeze Denise and himself while they have sex so their love will "last forever"; however, due to the modified calculations, the bubble encasing them expands and threatens to freeze the whole world. Angel defeats the remaining demons in time to turn off the machine and undo the whole process. Denise breaks up with Gene.
