Dear Friends,
IRADAH (Initiative
for Raising Awareness, Development and Assimilation of Handicapped) has been
organizing Outreach Camps in the far flung areas of District Chakwal to reach
out to the persons with disabilities, register them and provide them free check
up, wheelchairs, tricycles and other support that they need.
During these camps, IRADAH has come across a 7 years old girl child Ayesha. She belongs to village Simbal, Union Council Khairpur, Tehsil Kallar Kahar of District Chakwal. She is both deaf and blind.
For IRADAH, it is first-of-its-kind case. IRADAH has come across deaf children and knows how to help them. IRADAH has come across blind children and knows how to help them. However, in this case, IRADAH team and her parents are in a fix and do not know what to do. We are looking forward to advice guidance from you – the friends and supporters of IRADAH.

Zara and Zeeshan,
Great you have taken this up. Count me in case of some follow up one time cost support from me whenever that arises in future. We got to ensure the girl is in Zara's school and that there is no hinderance in her continued education in financial terms. You have my email now.

Dear Tanveer, Does he have any developmental delays etc. besides stammering? while speech dealys and stammering etc. can be due to developmental issues or certain disabilities, they are also often caused by emotional distress and/or trauma. Thus it would be important that if there is not apparent physical cause for this(verified by the doctor) then the best would be to contact a psychologist. Do get in touch with Youth Helpline by calling their toll free number 080022444 for further guidance as well as referral.
Good Luck!

Dear Zishan and Zara,
I think you people would have got the support you required for rehabilitation of that girl. Please see me as standing in the que of all those who committed to support you people for educational rehabilition and social inclusion of blind girl. You people can just share the total budget required for it and then each of us can commit in tangible terms.
Best of luck for this noble cuase!

| Dear All, Although Internet is great tool for networking and exchanging information. But we need to be careful, I noticed that now there are many forum on Disability and mostly build up by picking emails from here and there with out asking the permission from the person. Standard way is to invite people to join, and unless they join the group / forum themselves we shall not add their emails. I hope as time pass we will learn more and will have a better online network of PWDs, DPWs and related organization. One more thing I'd like to say is that subject line is very important, when I read it first "Advice for Deaf & Blind Girl" I thought someone picked some information from here or there and sending for Deaf & Blind Girls. As I alwasy have 100s of email daily here I didn't open, until Shafiq and Zara's emails appears. Subject line could be "Any advice for Deaf - Blind Girl ?" And I am proud of Zara a member of our Deaf community of Pakistan, she proves that if given the chance and facilities Deaf are not less than anyone. keep up the good work Regards Muhammad Akram Founder & Chairman DANISHKADAH www.danishkadah.org.pk --- On Thu, 7/30/09, nasir malik <nasir...@yahoo.com> wrote: |
AOA,
I second the understanding of last couple of mails and suggest that until unless the subject is linked to all in your mailing list, mails should not be directed to everybody. Keep things specified. Thanks.
May Allah bless all of you for this noble work.
