Ipreviously tried following the instructions on the Fabric site and had no luck, and when I tried to follow up on the Fabric discord, I was basically told no one uses mineos or knew how to make it run there.
As far as i can see the server version is installed much the same way as FTB style servers. So you should be able to install it. The setup they describe in their instructions is for a standalone server, not for a server administered by MineOS (or any other Minecraft server admin tool).
So I followed the steps and everything copied over but when I try to run it the server will just fail when it says fabric is preparing JARs on first launch. I am using Mojang 1.16.5 as the profile and followed the steps as listed above. I made sure to set the Java settings to the fabric-server-launcher.jar as well and have made sure the server has 4 GB of ram available to it. Is there something I am missing?
My post above is really each step you need to take (just remember to drop the square brackets ( [ ] ): where you need to insert the corret version to match the correct filenames.
Fabric on mineos? - #2 by iMelsom
So I have many Servers that I play with my friends and I want to move them to my desktop. I have no idea how and would like some help. Also, I am a noob at Linux and a step-by-step would be nice. Thanks!
Ok So how did you do it?! I mean I am glad you figured it out but I have not yet would you mind enlightening me pleas?
I am running a mineos server and I I want to be able to export the server so I can spin it up some where else or share it with others that may just be running a java server.
Is that even possible
Looks like a great discussion here but I would like a little more information if possible. My webui is broken at best, half the time it wont even show the server and if it does it shows as offline for a long period of time even when it is clearly up. Its been very difficult to make archives/backups. My server is also over 14GB.
That said, I see where to find the information I need on the server console thank you, however what I would like to know is how to save or make a copy of my server to a flash drive or another PC from the console. Also from the webui would be useful for others that do not have a broken webui.
I grabbed a direct copy of a friend's server files. I first ran it on your other minecraft server docker. The actual minecraft server seems to run just great. The MineOS web interface only stops responding once the minecraft server is fully up (or at least roughly then, hard to tell for sure). I checked to make sure that the world and server names have no spaces in them. I did some testing earlier to see how some of the stuff works before I imported my friend's server, and it seems to run just fine (the MineOS part) with a fresh server. I am at a loss for what I can test, or how to begin figuring out what the cause is.
That being said, that bug fix you linked clearly seems like it would be the fix I needed. But on the same note, that patch is 10 days old and I was messing with this less than 10 days ago.... who knows. It's currently working and everyone (for now) is happy.
When i try to run an Enigmatica 2 server the webui chrashes? Any idea why? I have done the first time server setup on another computer and transferred it to an empty server created in the webui. Any ideas as to what the problem may be?
The webui does complain about the server adding to much to the log too fast and applying rate limiting, could that somehow have an effect?
Finally, to my issue.... i just did a fresh install of this image, changed nothing on the install (not even the pw - and none of the ports are conflicting) and get to the login, login with root / mineos and get a `This site can't be reached` and the web ui seems to have crashed - have to restart it to access the login.
Listen. Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony. - i know im the peasant now :-), he has better lines.
Hey, I used to run this Docker with no issues but have recently re-installed it and am getting the following error "No profiles are available; check internet connectivity and refresh the profile list." I do have a pfsense Box but can't seem to find any information on why it wouldn't work? I have tried updated the WebUI and re installing the Node packages etc. Any help would be appreciated, thank you!
I have been using this but keep getting a "Connection Refused". I have my server set to autostart so my server is running right now and I can play on it but I am unable to access the webpage at all. This is happening quite frequently. My only solution I found was to restart the entire server. I hsbr 8443 port forwarded correctly i believe (i port forwarded the server). I will shutdown the container and start it up and I will be able to access the mineos and login and operate as normal. Then something happens and i refresh the page to look at the console log and I get a connection refused although the server is still up and running. Tips/advice?
edit: I have found that if i start the docker it will be fine but after the minecraft server starts all the way the container can not be reached anymore. It seems to lose connection once the server reaches 5+gb of ram usage.
any idea how we would go about implementing the proposed solution?
i have the server set to auto-start and am unable to open the webgui for MineOS and it doesn't look like the server starts either
Install profile -
Once in the server, on the left hand menu click on the profiles section and download 1.18.1 from the Mojang repo.
You can change the repository and install Paper, Spigot, Waterfall and many others if that is your cup of tea.
Create the server -
On the left hand menu, click create a server, give it a name and save it. You can change any of the other options as desired. I do recommend changing the port from the default 25565 to something else. This will allow other MC servers to run on your network with out incident. (Ask me how I know)
Error: mineos had a failure Exception: RuntimeError Message: Last 10 lines: fatal: remote error: The unauthenticated git protocol on port 9418 is no longer supported. Please see LINK REMOVED for more information. Partial plugin destroyed
If you plan on just hosting the server locally and letting your friends come to your house to log in then it is pretty striaght forward. Once the server is setup, you can all log in the same way - by adding a multiplayer server from within the minecraft game menu.
I have just followed the above instructions and setup a working MC server in a ubuntu server VM. To connect to the server you add a new server in the multiplayer section of minecraft using your VMs ip address followed by :25565 (example -
192.168.1.0:25565)
The TrueNAS server I originally had it setup on is still running but just as a NAS. I have moved away from plugins in TreuNAS core (besides PLEX, which still works fine) as they seem to be getting forgotten about with development. It seems that TrueNAS scale is the way to go moving forward in regards to plugins and VMs. But CORE is a a very solid option for NAS only needs.
I have moved my minecraft server to a proxmox cluster running under ubuntu server using a simular process descibed above to set it all up. I have to say, having had the chance to play around with proxmox for a while now, it really is a great choice for VMs. If you can get a backup server running as well (can be run as a VM on truenas scale) you have a really SWEET home lab solution. I have been using a bunch of HP elitedesk minis as a proxmox 2 node cluster with a 3rd machine acting as a backup server, I also have home assistant with a coral TPU USB stick as my home assistant server. What a world we live in where I can get thses machines for $150AUD each. =D
The official minecraft server works and I am able to login as well as my kid locally within the LAN but it seems to poop out after a while and refuse to load/render chunks. I did set the chunk distance to 36 (from the default 10 or so chunks).
