Walking down a trodden path in the densely forested area of West Virginia, USA highlights the natural beauty, verdant hills and mountains. Yet there was no electricity, no running water and only a battered pioneer shack to live in. The winters were extremely harsh and only a few would dare to live there. But in 1968 a small group of devotees founded a community here. They were trying to fulfil their spiritual master's instruction (Srila Prabhupada) of an ideal society based on Krishna Consciousness (KC) or love of God.

Srila Prabhupada first arrived in 1969 and whilst dwelling in a place known as Old Vrndavana he set the vision of "7 temples on 7 hills" in this area. The devotees became enthused and set about fulfilling this mission. Within the space of six years (1973-79) the awe-inspiring Palace of Gold was constructed, what can't be achieved for Krishna by our collective endeavours?

Dear Risi,
Dandsvat Pranams. All glories to Srila Prabhupada!
I have a simple inquiry: Are you the "KC Blogger"? You have posted the blogger with stories on New Vrindavan and the U.S. coast Rathayatra, but your postings are out of IYFGurgaon in India. Are you simply forwarding the bloger from the U.S? It's a great blog site; very well done. Please enlighten.
Your well wishing servant,
Makhanlal das (ACBSP)
