WHO IS GOD?

The Creator Who is Worthy of Worship

 

John 17:3 (KJV)

 And this is life eternal,

that they might know thee the only true God,

and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

WORSHIP

The act of paying divine honors to GOD; or the reverence and homage paid to him in religious exercises, consisting in adoration, confession, prayer, thanksgiving and other activities. Prayer is a chief part of religious worship.To honor with extravagant love and extreme submission.

GOD  is worthy of human worship...

Because He is the only God that exists,

Isa 44:6-8 (KJV)

 Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel,

and his redeemer the LORD of hosts;

I am the first, and I am the last;

and beside me there is no God.

{7} And who, as I, shall call, and shall declare it,

 and set it in order for me,

since I appointed the ancient people?

and the things that are coming, and shall come, let them show unto them.

 {8} Fear ye not, neither be afraid:

have not I told thee from that time, and have declared it?

 ye are even my witnesses.

Is there a God beside me?

 yea, there is no God; I know not any.

 

Because He is the personal Creator of everything,

 

Gen 1:1 (KJV)

 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

 

John 1:1-4 (KJV)

 In the beginning was the Word,

and the Word was with God,

and the Word was God.

{2} The same was in the beginning with God.

 {3} All things were made by him;

and without him was not any thing made that was made.

 {4} In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

 

Because of His holy nature

 

1 Pet 1:14-16 (KJV)

As obedient children,

not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:

{15} But as he which hath called you is holy,

so be ye holy in all manner of conversation{Grk=behavior};

{16} Because it is written,

Be ye holy; for I The LORD your GOD am holy.

 

Because of His perfect love

1 John 4:8-11 (KJV)

 He that loveth not knoweth not God;

for God is love.

{9} In this was manifested the love of God toward us,

 because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world,

that we might live through him.

{10} Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us,

and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

{11} Beloved, if God so loved us,

we ought also to love one another.

 

 

Because He is our Faithful Protector

 

Deu 7:9 (KJV)

 Know therefore that the LORD thy God,

He is God,

the faithful God,

which keepeth covenant{Heb=becomes your protector}

 and mercy{Heb=hedges you around with mercy}

 with them that love him

and keep his commandments

to a thousand generations;

 

Because of His Unsearchable Character

Rom 11:33-36 (KJV)

O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God!

 how unsearchable are his judgments,

and his ways past finding out!

{34} For who hath known the mind of the Lord?

or who hath been his counsellor?

 {35} Or who hath first given to him,

and it shall be recompensed unto him again?

{36} For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things:

to whom be glory for ever. Amen.

 

Because He is a God of Justice

Exo 34:6-7a (KJV)

And the LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed,

The LORD, The LORD God,

merciful and gracious,

longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth,

{7} Keeping mercy for thousands,

forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin,

and that will by no means clear the guilty

{Heb=will by no means let the guilty go unpunished}...

 

Because of His Transcendent Trinity Nature, ie. Three persons in one God.

 

Isa 48:15-18 (KJV)

I, even I, have spoken; yea,

 I have called him: I have brought him,

and he shall make his way prosperous.

{16} Come ye near unto me, hear ye this;

 I have not spoken in secret from the beginning;

from the time that it was, there am I:

and now the Lord GOD, and his Spirit, hath sent me.

{17} Thus saith the LORD, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel;

I am the LORD thy God which teacheth thee to profit,

 which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go.

{18} O that thou hadst hearkened to my commandments!

then had thy peace been as a river,

and thy righteousness as the waves of the sea:

 

Because God, in the Person of His Eternal Son, came to earth to remove the curse of our rebellion towards God.

 

1 John 4:9(KJV)

{9} In this was manifested the love of God toward us,

 because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world,

that we might live through him.

 

John 3:14-18 (KJV)

 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness,

even so must the Son of man be lifted up:

{15} That whosoever believeth in him should not perish,

 but have eternal life.

{16} For God so loved the world,

that he gave his only begotten Son,

that whosoever believeth in him

should not perish, but have everlasting life.

{17} For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world;

 but that the world through him might be saved.

 {18} He that believeth on him is not condemned:

 but he that believeth not is condemned already,

 because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
