We're making a new kind of future-smashing toy: customisable, 3D-printed, locally made, and game-enabled.

MAKIES são action dolls, customizáveis e com possibilidade de encaixar um Lilypad no meio.

Antes nem tinha lido estas informações e já estava maravilhada com o "action doll" (pra quem já teve contato com algum designer de produto, principalmente alguém interessado em dolls), sabe que é muito difícil fazer bonecos flexíveis, por conta das articulações, materiais etc. Quando vi o "customizável", pensei cool! :D e o resto só veio pra brindar o pacote pra vir o Irado!

MAKIES come in female and male form, and are fully poseable in all sorts of ways. They can do karate, yoga and kung fu, or at least stand in positions which look a bit like that. They have easily pull-off and push-on limbs, hands and feet, so dressing them is easy.
Out of our way inferior dolls and action figures, MAKIES are crazy flexible!

 

We’re using 3D printing techniques to make the action doll, each one unique to its owner. 

MAKIES can’t talk (yet) but the inside is designed to fit a Lilypad Arduino or similar, so if you want to you can try your hand at fitting LEDs, RFIDs and battery packs, voicechips, Bluetooth and Arduino.

MAKIE’s plastic is a bioplastic, and the powder is recycled so there’s very little waste. The unused powder can be upcycled again into nylon clothes, and because we only print a MAKIE once you’ve ordered it, there is zero wastage in things made but never sold.
