Hello Brothers and Sisters,
It is me again. I just want to share a thought with you all and to reveal to you some of the things that happened in Amankuta before you were born. I don't think I have all the email addresses. Please help me to distribute to any of our sisters and brothers I may have missed unintentionally. Feed-backs are welcomed.
Divine Intervention
Dearest,
Reason for this missive is to express my overwhelming
frustration on the wave of prescience deaths in our family. This year alone, there
have been seven deaths. I know, we can justifiably blame some life styles and lack
of proper medical attentions to many of the deaths, but we must not forget that
we owe them that knowledge and advantage of good health care. We know better.
They are our roots. We are indebted to them.
If you sense a persuasive urgency to do something about this
unknown curse, you are not alone. The big question I have is, what is it that
we can do? Is there anything wrong with our family? Does anybody know? Where
can we go to find out, what is wrong with our family? Are we cursed? Throughout
our life and that of our fathers’, nothing of this sort has happened. One thing
civilization and modern Christianity does well is that they tend to change or
camouflage believes in the super natural.
Is there any scientific evidence that explain these incidences?
It is safe to say that our family converted to Christianity
in the early years of nineteen hundreds along with most villages in Mbieri. I
proudly claim the faith of Christian religion for which you and I are born, and
I know you too claim it. As a matter of fact, the primary reason why our family
and Mgbeahuru family stand out in Mbieri is because of religion. We (our late
Benedict O. Ngumezi) single handedly (before he became chief) brought the
Anglican Church to Amankuta Mbieri; granted we did oppose the Mgbeahuru’s
family for bringing in the Catholic Church to Amankuta but that was because they
were bringing in lots of “white people” to settle in our village. That was also
the reason why the Catholic Church was built in Orie Mbieri. The site given to them
to build their Church was the Anglican Church main burial ground in Mbieri. The
white people (Reverend fathers) were also given the forbidden sight (Ihwu
agbara) to build their own residences behind the burial ground. All the lands
were given to them free because that area was clouded with fear (agbara). The
villagers dared crossing into the area after done. The then, Rev. professor Opara, a
very tight friend of the late B.O. Ngumezi and the fourth member of the (Otu-Nne
family of friends) discovered that Catholics were given free land to
build-upon; he boldly went after the remaining of the forbidden sight, occupied
it with his students, and later built his training college on it.
Brothers and sisters, to my opinion, this is just synapses
of our religious involvement in Mbieri. What has this got to do with the deaths
we are cursed with recently? I don’t know! Do you have your own take or spin?
Our Christian religion teaches us that when we are in doubt, we should run to
Christ. He is the answer! He is our creator and redeemer! We love Him! We
believe in Him! We honor Him! We adore Him! And we worship Him!
Oh, Thank You Lord, we have a pastor in our family. We are
believers. My question and suggestion is why don’t we organize a pilgrim of
prayer warriors in our compound? We can organize an all- night, all-week
jamboree of prayer warriors from all available Christian denominations to cast
away the evil spirits amongst us. Let’s confess and reaffirm that Christ died
so that we will be free. He is our master, our Alpha and Omega. Let him come
into our lives and take control in Christ name. Let’s beg for forgiveness for
whatever went wrong. Let Him correct and guild us through difficult times. Let
the blood of Jesus Christ wash away our sins and wrap us in the silky comfort
of His arms.
Thanks for the reading. All the best! Yours brother, Chima Ngumezi.
