Cathy,

Thanks for the invitation to join this group!

We will definately be out diving again in the future!  We had hoped to join Dede, Moe and Kellie this weekend, but, alas, our ongoing health issues keep us from traveling.

I would appreciate knowing the different throwing techiniques that everyone is using.  I want to try a new one with Rugby next time that includes a sit stay (I think he has one now--young boy, you know) and tossing as he hits the end of the dock.  Shen is happy with her set and go.

Others?

Hi Missy,

Sorry to hear you are not feeling well - hope you are on the mend!

There is a dock diving event in Talbot MD in November!

Well as far as Otis & I go, we are still trying out things.
The best one for us is the sit stay then I throw.
He does not try to catch it form me so he takes off after /as I throw
it.
The other way is to old on to his collar ad take him witk me as I go
up and throw it (toy) in then drag him back 30 feet or so and let him
go! It is only a couple of feet different either way. But you can tell
from the youtube video that He loves it! The indoor show took about 5
feet off of his distance, The water was icy!
Otis ended up with dead tail! I put on his neopreen jacket & that
helped.

This will be Folly and Cara's first jump this weekend in a pool. Was going to go this afternoon but plans changed on me. So I won't be able to get there by 3:00 to reg.  I bought a new bumper that is made out of a tennis ball and floats.  I guess jumping off a pier will be different to them. I know Folly, she'll be a Peter Pan. I hope..

Hope your feeling better Missy, get some chicken noodle soup.

I do a down stay as Balloo can sneak too easily on the sit stay!

Just for fun I made this video (jeffrey vid - will make one for the dogs soon!)
