Seeking Search Code Help For Hire

I am making an iPhone site but have hit a wall with the search code.

What I would like is to allow users to either 1) Search by browsing
through a list of items and then click on an item and go to
"item.html" and/or 2) Search by typing in the item number if known
it and then go to "item.html"

The "browse" search would be scrolling down the drop down list and
choosing "chicken" which would then go to Chicken.html upon tapping
"Search". The "typed" search would go to Chicken.html when that text
is entered and "Search" is tapped.)

I have looked at the Joe Hewitt samples and moviesapp.com for hours
but am not experienced enough to implement those searches. I am a
single parent of a 1-year old, working FT and trying to do this at
night. I just need to get the basic search code in place so that I can
add the content. I am willing to pay per hour with an estimate up
front. I am hoping to find someone who will be accessible throughout
this process should the need arise in terms of other issues.
