Sprayhood

Hi

We just bought our IW 40 and we're very happy to be a part of this exclusive little group. Our home harbour is in Fredrikstad, Norway.  I believe our boat is hull no 21 from 1980 and we will use the time till next spring to refurbish the boat.  The interior needs a bit of work as well as the deck.  I have seen pictures of various sprayhood solutions and I'm curious to get ideas for how this can be done elegantly.  I should say that in our boat there is an enterance to the aft cabin from the front of the cockpit - I believe this is not original. We're looking for a sprayhood solution which is larger than the original small one and we'd be very grateful for feedback.

Hi Nina and Gunnar,

Glad to hear from you.

We made a medium size dodger over the aft entrance. Because it interferes a little with the winch handles, we made the dodger very quick to fold down. See attached photos.The supporting arm mechanisms are custom made.
