Hi everybody, I just bought an iw 40 in Monfalcone (Trieste). The next days I will go to pick her up to Venice. Im very excited but I don't know s much about this boat. Ihope to know more with your help. Thank you everybody . Alberto

Leo, what do you think about IW40? is it sure? comfortable?fast enough? how many years you have it?

Si, siamo pochi ma buoni.

We have had Firefly since 1986 and still live onboard. She is now in North Carolina but we started in Sweden, then Med, Africa, South America, West Indies, USA, Canada....

The construction, hardware and rig is very strong and we never worry about the boat in bad weather. Her design is timeless and still looks great. She is fast, but somewhat tender (narrow hull) and wet in rough weather compared to more modern boats. Like most S&S design of this era, she can be hard to steer downwind in rough weather. Comfortable is very subjective (I am not very comfortable on small boats in bad weather).
