Publish to repository hangs

Our publish to subversion all the sudden stopped working a few days ago, it would simply hang on the first schedule. Turning on debug I see it is at the proxy settings section but moves no further, no timeout, error message etc: (we use proxy server for SVN access, user is null, not sure if that is a problem but we never set it in the past)

to the above code to have the proxy stuff set on it. This code was contributed by an external committer but hasn't changed in ages and hasn't been touched so if it suddenly stopped working then my first suggestion would be to see what has changed in your environment in terms of network and security settings.
