With a focus on environmentally friendly, accessible, and equitable transportation policies, Bike Walk and Bus PAC is committed to helping elect leaders who will prioritize sustainable infrastructure and climate-conscious transit initiatives.
While we applaud some efforts to expand D.C.’s multimodal infrastructure, we are deeply concerned by the slow pace of implementation. From delayed bus priority corridors to incomplete bike lane networks, the city continues to fall short of what is needed. Our lives—and the health of our environment—are at stake. Without significantly increased resources and a stronger political commitment, D.C. will not meet the urgent demand for safer streets and more sustainable transportation options.
As cities and communities around the country face growing challenges from congestion, pollution, and climate change, the need for bold local transportation policies has never been greater. The PAC’s mission is to empower D.C. candidates who recognize the urgency of this moment and will advocate for policies that reduce carbon emissions, promote public transit, support active transportation (such as biking and walking), and accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles.
