Are your kids, aged 14 through 18, looking for something fun to do this summer? WABA invites you to join us for the Summer Vibes Teen Ride on Saturday, July 15, from 11 am – 1 pm!
We will gather at Lincoln Park. Before the start of the ride, we will have the opportunity to learn from a Certified Bike Instructor who will make sure everyone will be able to answer a couple key questions: What should you check before starting a ride? How can you bike safely on the road with other traffic?
Then, we will head out from Lincoln Park and ride as a group to the Anacostia River Trail. This is a no drop ride, which means we’ll stick together and no rider will be left behind! We will take a break for water in Anacostia Park before heading back to Lincoln Park for food and drinks (ride route). At the end of the ride, we’d love to hear about your experience! What did you like or dislike throughout the ride? What are your thoughts and visions regarding transportation in D.C.?
All food and drinks will be provided by WABA.
You do not need to consider yourself a “cyclist” to participate, but participants should be able to ride a bike for 30 minutes at a time. The total ride length is about 4 and a half miles. (If you do not know how to ride a bike and want to learn, you can learn how to ride at one of WABA’s learn-how-to-ride events. Sign up here:
https://waba.org/fun/.) We'll be capping the ride at 25 participants, so be sure to register for your spot!
If you want to participate and need a bike and/or helmet, we can provide one for you! Just please make sure to note that in your registration.
