Wanted to make neighbors aware of two DPR events this Friday and Saturday, at Turkey Thicket and Langdon Park.

 

Saturday is the 7^th annual Chuck Brown Day! Bring lawn chairs or a blanket and enjoy a full afternoon of FREE entertainment as we celebrate and remember Chuck Brown at the 7th Annual Chuck Brown Day at Chuck Brown Memorial Park. Join CCB, Still Familiar, Proper Utensils featuring Jas. Funk, and of course, the Chuck Brown Band crankin' all of your Chuck favorites. Food trucks on site, kids activities area, and The Chuck Brown Foundation will be giving out free backpacks for the kids (Backpack giveaway starts at 1pm !). Late Night Hype is our carnival-style weekly summer event series for teens and young adults that will feature: 

•                     Live DJ

•                     Free Burgers, Hotdogs, and Snacks

•                     Game Trucks

•                     Basketball Tournaments

•                     360 Photobooth

•                     Face Painting

•                     Arts and Crafts

 

Each week will also feature 3 workshops that require extra registration:

•                     Spoken Word Performances/Open Mic

•                     Beat Ya Feet Workshop Led by Beat Ya Feet Academy

•                     Graffiti Art Workshop Led by Local Graffiti Artists

Due to the rain and storms in the forecast for tomorrow, Late Night Hype at Turkey Thicket on Friday night has been POSTPONED. 

We are anticipating rescheduling the event for a Friday night in early September and will share when the rescheduled date is confirmed.
