New Year's Day - Saturday, January 1, 2022
At Select DPR Sites, Public 5K Routes, or Wherever You Prefer

The FITDC Fresh Start 5K has just gone virtual!
Due to COVID-19 concerns, and in the interest of public safety, Mayor Bowser has decided to shift the upcoming 5K to a virtual event that can be celebrated
across all 8 wards.

Instead of gathering at one location, this year's event will take place all over the District as we encourage residents to run/walk alone, or in small groups, in their own neighborhoods.

How Will it Work?

There's still time to sign up!
Register now, for free, and make plans to run or walk 3.1 miles on New Year's Day. Registration is still open!
If you've already signed up, you're all set.

Will I Still Get My Swag?

Yes, but you have to get it today!
All participants can still retrieve a Fresh Start packet complete with everything you need to commemorate this year's 5K.

Today, Thursday, December 30 from 10am - 4pm is the last chance for participants to pick up their free
t-shirt, racers bib, medal, and drawstring bag from one of the below DPR locations:

Columbia Heights Community Center
1480 Girard Street NW

Edgewood Recreation Center
300 Evarts St NE

Deanwood Community Center
1350 49th Street NE

Wilson Aquatic Center
4551 Fort Drive NW

Make sure to wear all your gear on race day and tag @myfitdc on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, using the hashtag #FreshStart5K to connect with your fellow Fresh Starters. Run alone, run with friends, or run with family - but no matter who you run with, be sure to post on social media so you can run with FITDC!

Where Can I Run on Race Day?

Visit fitdcfreshstart5k.com for a list of DPR locations that will have tracks open on January 1st, as well as certified public 5K routes that you can chose from.

Then it's time to run or walk at your own pace and enjoy your day! Track your own time, share with us on social, and kick off 2022 in the healthiest way possible.
