Hey everyone,
Come join us for a presentation and discussion of our Spring Break trip to New Orleans this Thursday, March 18 at 7pm in SU 303! To help us prepare, please email me your top 10 favorite pictures of the week for those who attended. Please send the photos to IVU...@gmail.com.
Also too, the end of academic year is quickly approaching us, and with that comes the need to elect officers for the coming year. My hope for this election process is that it will be more of a discussion of the direction our little club wants to move in rather than a competition for each position.
Over the next few weeks, I would like to meet with any of you who are thinking about a stepping up to a leadership role over lunch or dinner to discuss your ideas and concerns. I will also be accepting "nominations" from our current membership suggesting people who might be a good fit in leadership, that Eric, Sarah or myself would follow up by talking with. These can be given at any meeting, or semi-anonymously by email to IVU...@gmail.com. In early April, I'd like potential officers to be prepared to discuss their ideas for next semester at the first few action meetings, with the election tentatively scheduled for April 15th. After this, we'll work with you to make the transition as smooth as possible.
We currently have 3 formal officers, however depending on the level of interest, we can create other positions to fulfill peoples interests and talents. These positions might be created this semester, or next fall with the input of the incoming Intervarsity staff members. We will hopefully have a chance to meet with the new staff in early April.
The tentative election time line will go:
Nominations and Interviews with current officers: March 15-mid April
Candidate Presentations - Early April (at Thursday Action Meetings)
Tentative Election Date - Thursday, April 15 (at the Action Meeting)
Transition and Training - Mid April through May
I thank you now for all the work and prayer you've all put in to making the past two semesters a success and look forward to building a strong future for IV-UConn with our incoming officers.
