Rushing forward in a vain attempt to take his last chance to dispel whatever spell shielded the dark wizard, Clugh was first horrified as the meteors descended from the heavens then dumbfounded when Time stopped and he found himself face-to-face with an actual God.
Iuz was peaceful and reasonable as the God shared the context and story of the past with his party.
Listening to the story, as a Druid, Clugh admitted that he too was leery of the values of civilization and their too easy judgement of those who did not fit in.
But, in his mind it seemed that Iuz also represented some kind of civilization. And an Empire of the wronged was not any more admirable than any other. A civilization could ultimately be judged only by how it treated how it treated its subjects and more importantly how it treated its non-subjects, with Nature being one of them and one of the most often mistreated. As of now, Clugh had not seen enough of the Empire to be impressed.
Moreover one would in a way be a "pawn" as long as one sought to serve rather than to take and Clugh was not tempted by such promises of power having turned away from them long ago.
For now, Clugh would choose to serve and be a pawn willingly if that was what it meant.
