Well, once we have the credentials to our names by completing what we have been sent to the icelands for, we can go back to Waterdeep with our heads held high and convince all the nobles that we are serious about stopping Tiamat.
For me, former credit dies with the druid and Barian will need to build up his status among his party and now, the "Anti-Tiamat council". Anyway, what was I to say in today's encounter? I changed into a horse and tried to ram the black half-dragon? Or I tried to slash a red wizard of Thay with a battleaxe? Can't really fit in even after DM declares that I do know the past...
It is specifically mentioned by one of the NPCs that the cult numbers more than 10,000 followers? We will definitely need to raise an army to defeat that kind of numbers, and persuading the respectable lords of the different factions seems to be key.
How's ambassador Conrad? I mean, does he strikes us (the party) as a ambassador who is used to fighting battles? A retired soldier from the dwarven army of Mithril hall, perhaps, because he have toned muscles and stuff? Or is he just a political guy? How about Delen, Thalan, Melendrake, Ravenguard? Prominent leaders with real craft (eg. Melendrake is a Eldritch knight himself?) or simply kings/nobles who are good at ruling?
I'm thinking about the kind of tone I should use on them in the next council meeting. Try:-"But, my country is in danger from a orcish bandit threat from the south!" and reply with "Oh, and maybe stopping the threat will get easier once Tiamat arrives here?" Hmmm...maybe sarcasm will work on these "warrior-ly like" nobles.
But first, let us obtain some credentials before speaking again.
