Toymaker Gadof Blinsky

Blinsky is a heavyset man who wears a moth-eaten jester's cap during store hours, more out of habit than to humor visitors. A few months ago, a carnival ringmaster from a faraway land named Rictavio gave him a pet monkey out of pity for his loneliness. Overjoyed, Blinsky has begun training the monkey to fetch toys from hard-to-reach shelves.

Blinsky believes the burgomaster is right - that the only way to escape from Barovia is to make everyone in town "hyappy." Blinsky would like to do his part by making fun toys for children in Barovia.

Blinsky makes special dolls for the burgomaster's henchman. Every doll is modeled on a description given by the henchman and each doll has been closer to capturing Ireena's likeness than the last.

OOC:
Von Weerg's Masterpiece storyline is no longer achievable with the death of Blinsky.

When your character level up, you may use the new character sheet on the following session with the newly gained features. You keep track of damage taken and class features used. You may prepare new spells after a long rest as usual.

For example, for a wizard, after you level up from 2 to 3 after taking 5 points of damage and two level 1 spell slots used, you use the new HP maximum (with 5 damage taken) and you have two level 1 spells slots plus two level 2 spell slots available for use.

Oh gee, none of this would've happened if the ranger was around! Kidding, I'm definitely available this week though. Wasn't able to attend the last two weeks because of stupidity, lost my passport and spent 1.5 weeks back at home. Just got back to work today  -_-

This is unfortunate. It means i actually had curing spells to use on hamish and it would not have gone the way it did. I understood your previous post to mean i needed a long rest b4 being able to use the new slots. That was probably my mistake as am new.

Haha, on hindsight there are always a lot of things that could have been done to prevent it.

For example,
1. The party should not rest in a wilderness area that the druid is not comfortable with.
2. The party should have taken a short rest to recover when they are injured.
3. Those on watch should have woken up the party when they sensed a dark presence.
4. Someone could have fed a goodberry or a healing potion to the sorcerer to revive him.
5. Someone could have body-shielded the sorcerer when the latter was down to prevent further bites.

And so the list goes on...

By the way, such situations were the reason why the party decided to place their goodberries always in the right pocket =D

My favourite quotes of the session:

"You are a foolish boy with a dangerous toy"

"More like a dangerous boy with a foolish toy"

OOC:

I have received feedback regarding player concerns and discomfort over the events in the last session. I would like to reassure all players that this is a heroic fantasy themed adventure in a Gothic horror setting.

It is not an evil or free-for-all-and-no-holds-barred campaign (except the villains in the story of course, but who is the villain and who is the victim?)

The party lit the fire and watched Hamish's corpse burned to ashes, ensuring that he would never return. They hardly knew him. In fact, they hardly knew each other. So much has happened over the past three nights.

The days are short and the nights are long. Will the nightmare ever end?

They must be thinking of Ravenloft when they did this:
