of Giving Week Volunteers
Its time now to start the planning for this year’s JGW festival from 2-8
th October 2013.
THE JOY OF GIVING WEEK is held every year from Oct 2nd – 8th and is
India's festival of giving. A platform that brings together people from all
walks of life, and encourages them to celebrate giving – time, money,
skills or love. Its concerted effort across NGOs, companies, celebrities,
media, schools, colleges, and the “aam junta”…Started in
2009, this year (Oct 2-8, 2013) will be the 5th edition. Last year conservative
estimates say 2 million+ people participated in 70+ cities with 800+ events
registered (from small individual events to those involving >100,000 people)
and Rs 30cr+ generated in donations of cash and materials along with millions

Bangalore Cares, along with the group of volunteers of the JGW are organising a
NGO Workshop meet to spread the message and inform the various options that are
present during the week for NGOs to leverage the Joy of Giving Week festival to
raise awareness of your cause, plan fundraising events, get aligned with
corporates, get volunteers for projects etc.
