IMPUTE doesn't work?

Hi,

I followed the instructions on ive21_user.pdf to install IVEware. I have a Windows 7 Professional 64-bit OS. I specified the path to my sas.exe file as suggested in another post (C:\Program Files\SASHome\SASFoundation\9.4\sas.exe). The installation seemed to work fine. I then followed the example on ive21_user.pdf for the IMPUTE procedure, using the same file, test.sas7dat, and was able to generate the script shown on p. 29 of the pdf. However, when I clicked on "submit," nothing happened. No subfolder or files were generated under the output folder or dataout folder. I uninstalled and reinstalled IVEware but the same problem remained. I don't know if this is an installation issue or if I am simply not doing something correctly.

Thanks in advance for your help,
Mei Yi

Please check whether you can run SAS from a command window. If not then you have not made the needed path modification.

Thank you Raghu, I corrected the path to: C:\Program Files\SASHome\SASFoundation\9.4

Previously I included the sas.exe in the pathname by mistake and now have removed it. I uninstalled IVEware and reinstalled it, and then re-ran the same script using the same file test.7bdat. This time there was a subfolder with today's date and time under the output folder, but the only files were setup.log and setup.sas. According to the ive21_user.pdf, there should be more files and 2 imputed datasets under the folder dataout. The log file shows only that I had started up SAS and does not show any of the impute syntax from the script file, and setup.sas is blank. Once again, I would appreciate your help with solving this problem.

Thanks,
Mei Yi

Ok, I managed to get the IMPUTE procedure to work when I used the Model Variables and Parameter windows to enter information. It's when I copied the syntax from the Script window, and then paste it in another IMPUTE script window and try to run it that it doesn't work. Does this mean that every time I want to run the IMPUTE procedure I have to use the Model Variables and Parameter windows to enter information? is there some way to save the script and be able to re-run it easily?

Thank you so much,
Mei Yi

You can use version 0.1 (which is identical to version 0.2 except for GUI) which can be run directly from the program editor window in SAS. You just type all your commands or you can run a previously written commands.

We are going to be releasing version 0.3 very soon that will run with SAS, Stata, R and SPSS where you can type all commands in an editor window and run by submitting it.

Dear Raghu,

Thank you for your quick response. I'm excited to hear about the new version 0.3 and would like to use that when it is available. What is the estimated release date?

Best wishes,
Mei Yi
