I asked by La Dolce Vita, Case's Italian culture club, to forward
their following event:
They are hosting a "Frightening Film Festa" in Mather Memorial room
125, beginning at 6:30pm tomorrow, Tuesday October 28. They will be
showing Italian horror films, have Italian treats appropriate for
Halloween, and encourage dressing up! The entire night is free.
This is during our weekly meeting but I'm sure the horror films will run late.
Also, the Cleveland Institute of Art's Cinematheque is showing this
weekend a 1965 French film by Jean-Luc Godard titled "Pierrot Le Fou"
(Pierrot the Fool). All though the plot of this movie might not be
inspired by commedia dell'arte, the character of Pierrot came from
the earlier Italian Pedrolino famous in commedia. Pierrot became one
of the most loved foolish character in French drama and operas for
centuries and influenced many later works. Showtimes are Saturday,
November 1 at 9:10pm and the following day at 6:45pm. The Saturday
showing is only a few hours after The Confused Greenie's next
performance of "Doging the Debates" at 5:00pm.
And finally, the SCA chapter of i Verdi Confusi has been invited to
perform a show for an event in January with an Italian theme for the
Barony of the Cleftlands (the local SCA group). The event will be at
the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds and rehearsals will be happening
Wednesday nights in Euclid. We want to use a scenario written during
the birth of commedia dell'arte and so we request additional actors
from any and all so interested. Carpooling from the University
Circle area is available and some rehearsals may happen on campus as
