Next Meeting - 10/22 at Cleftlands

I'd like to say that we will be holding our first official meeting at
the Cleftlands meeting this week - though I am not sure if I can make
it! My car is unexpectedly in the shop and might not be back until
Thursday or Friday. I'll look into getting a ride.
Barring that misfortune, let us meet at 8:00pm in the upstairs
hall. We will be brainstorming and discussing so we do not need
space and environment to perform (which, as we know, involves lots of
shouting and pratfalls that could be disruptive to others). Please
come early and join in on other activities, like dancing,
storytelling, or fighting if you want! We'll break at 9:00 for the
business meeting of the Barony. After that is done, we can plan to
discuss anything further if necessary, break to do other activities,
or head home.
Zsof and I discussed several things last week. The Regular Event in
the Cleftlands this year is being held on Saturday, January 24, 2009,
with the theme of the Italy, circa 1460, which is less than a century
before the rise of commedia dell'arte. I'm told that an Italian play
was requested - so it befell us to bring the populace a production,
probably performed late in the day around the time of court and feast
as was our first two plays. Zsof and I discussed the possibility of
staging a play inspired by one of the surviving scenarios from
Period. I'm still working on tracking down examples that can be
modified for the size of our troupe and run time, but getting more
players would help immensely!

I do have a ride to meeting tonight but I might not be there until
closer or a little after 8:00pm. I think I'll get there before but
I'm reliant on the kind people who are giving me a lift and I won't
ask them to change their schedule.
