Hello again,

Please pardon the use of bandwidth but I felt this should have its
own email as it's a different topic.

As I mentioned briefly and some may have seen on SCA group lists, The
Confused Greenies at CWRU are hosting a Bocce event this Friday,
September 19. We are beginning at 9:00pm - which is the point
because we have LED glowing balls (they just arrived yesterday)!

The idea behind this event is that Pantalone believes bocce will be
the next big thing and is trying to start a major league
franchise. We Greenies will be there in costume and mask doing
shtick appropriate to who we are while playing (Arlecchino is stupid
but happily plucky, Capitano brags but makes excuses when he fails,
Dottore tries to tell us supposed history and rules of bocce while
analyzing every shot to an annoying detail, etc) - and allowing our
guests to play bocce for real.

We don't have a script or scenario - just ideas and we'll be in
character, improvising with our guests. Anyone from i Verdi Confusi
is welcome to attend and help our numbers and to play along. It
won't involve much prep work and the only time needed would be Friday evening.

Here are some notes of possible shtick - but not limited to just
this:

Bocce is a sport known as an ancient game and made famous in Italy so
it's very appropriate for a commedia dell'arte troupe.

The following is a somewhat ugly URL to the location of the parking
lot near the Main Quad. The event will be held on the other side of
those buildings bordering the parking lot. If you are coming, I can
give more detailed directions. If multiple people are able to come
from the south maybe you could carpool.

If you don't want to be in character but still come play, that's great too!

Let us know! :-)
