This discussion centers on the Training Program. We have a Training
Committee consisting of Lion Management and IUOE 381 members who have
collaberated over several years to put together a program that assures
adequate training time and resources for training.

The Training Program has had some success, but pales in performance
compared to its specification. And we seem to be getting further away
from the idea of the right person in the right seat.

We need your input about how this program can be improved.

I think you need the right people in the right seat,but if you are not
the right person for that seat you may need to think about another
seat. I understand that not everybody is not cut out for operating (I
think that's where the problem is ) but if you want to stay in
operations you know thats
where you are going to end up. I think I you don't want to operate
then you may want to go do something else. I also think that if they
would put some more money on that job you would have more people bid
on the jobs. For me the draw back was the money and my age. If i took
that job I would be in that chair for that next 30+ years. that a long
time for some of us. That may be someother peoples draw backs. Just my
1cents
