Hi There! (and apologies if you receive this multiple times)
You're receiving this e-mail if you served or attended the past IUI conferences. You may already beh aware that the governance for the IUI conference is shifting to a new community-based electoral model, and WE NEED YOUR HELP to make this successful.
Specifically, PLEASE JOIN THE ONLINE IUI COMMUNITY at http://www.sigchi.org/communities/iui.
You must be a member of the community to vote for the future leaders of the steering committee and also to nominate yourself for a leadership position (if you choose to do so). Because of this requirement, it is particularly important that you, as one of the leaders of the IUI community, join the community and participate.
There is one requirement for joining the community, which is that you must be a member of ACM and either SIGCHI or SIGART. To become a member of ACM, please visit http://acm.org/. If you are a member of ACM, but not of SIGCHI or SIGART, please visit http://myacm.acm.org/, login using your ACM web account, click "My Services" in the left sidebar and click "Join SIGs" near the bottom of the page. There is a small fee to join a SIG, and SIGART is the cheaper option at $25.
