We are extremely delighted to inform you that IUDI- Delhi NCR Centre is a Knowledge Partner to the Festival of Places 2020.
On behalf of IUDI DNCR & CATTS I welcome you and invite you to the festival's event Place Stories 1.0 - Exploring Memory in Places scheduled to begin from 1st November, 2020.
A form is attached for members who would like to be a subject expert on the panel. Kindly fill the form and send it back to us as soon as possible. The selection will be done by the organisers based on the selected story, place and expert details. The stories would come from places across India therefore do mention places other than the metro cities.
We are inviting entries from professionals, researchers and students from across the disciplines of architecture, design, planning and other urban environment related fields such as urban geography, anthropology, social and environmental sciences, humanities, arts and crafts for Place Stories 1.0. Once the entries have been received the jury will shortlist the entries for online presentations. As per the topic of the story and its geographical location we will invite a Subject Expert as discussant for the storytelling session. The 45 minutes session will have a Storyteller, a Subject Expert and an Anchor. We will get in touch with you whenever we find a Place Story that matches the area of expertise of nominated Subject Experts from your organization.
Apart from the regular storytelling sessions during Place Stories 1.0 event we will also be planning Special Place Story Sessions exclusively with Subject Experts. We will curate, plan and schedule these special sessions in consultation with Subject Experts from each of our Knowledge Partners.
The objective of Place Stories 1.0 event is to advocate research on public spaces both historic and contemporary, encourage participation of professionals, researchers and common people in a dialogue around public spaces, create awareness about the state of public spaces and eventually promote participation of communities in planning, maintenance and management of public spaces. Place Stories 1.0 would culminate into the publication of a compendium called 'Placescapes' a collection of the best place stories received.
Kindly disseminate the information about the event in your network. We look forward to participation from our members
Do let us know if you require any further details. We will be happy to discuss.
Look forward to having you at the Festival of Places 2020 and collectively initiating a dialogue around Public Spaces and the future of our cities and towns with experts and people from all walks of life.
Regards,
