Hello everyone,
This is a letter which I framed for the IIA meet. There is a matter which I think the IIA Telengana chapter and the IUDI can pursue. As in Delhi they are trying to format a procedure whereby the body has some significance in planning decisions, it would be worthwhile if we can do the same ASAP. There is the matter of the Parade Grounds being taken over to build a new Secretariat, and the Dharna Chowk land being taken over as well. Today's paper mentions the removal of the Eco Sensitive Zone around the KBR park. As architects i think it is our bounden duty to prevent such insensitive acts which have long term deteriorating and harmful effects on the health of our cities and their Citizen's. We, as a body need to sensitivise the Powers that be that these are not SMART moves. Please let us organise a means to stop this happening before iot is too late. Public opinion can be taken...do we want an SRDP flyover or do we want the Parh ESZ ? Do WE want to lose the Parade Ground or other open areas in the city ?
As architects we should be able to suggest viable options ...maybe after consultation with the concerned professionals but the prime concern at the moment is to stop such proposals taking shape. I hope that this matter can be brought up in today's meeting. Thank you, Regards, Renu Singhal
