Dear all,

I am pleased to inform you that our paper about Japanese Bumblebee Watch is published (http://rdcu.be/vJOL).
We collected the photographs of all bumblebee species in Japan, and estimated the distributions of six bumblebee species with a species distribution model.
We continue to collect photographs, and will estimate the distributions of the other bumblebee species.

Sincerely,
Yukari Suzuki-Ohno

Dear Jose,

I’m very glad to hear that you are trying to do something similar in Chile.
In our study, the combination of suitable temperature and elevation was different among six species, and 35-70% forest area within 1 km cell was suitable for B. diversus, B. ardens, B. hypocrita, and B. ignitus. These are important information for developing conservation plans in Japan.
I think that this method will be effective to develop conservation plans for bumblebees in Chile, as well as Japan.

Best regards
Yukari
