I'm inviting everyone to play The Mystery of the Missing Manuscript,
an alternate reality game that will start tomorrow. If you are new to
ARGs, this is a great chance to get your feet wet and consider how you
might use an ARG for teaching and learning. The great thing about an
ARG is that you can be as involved or as aloof as you choose to be -
watch from the sidelines or jump in and help solve the mystery. Here's
some more info:
Have you ever wondered what an Alternate Reality Game (ARG) might be
like? Play along or just “lurk” and watch, starting March 1, as “The
Mystery of the Missing Manuscript” unfolds. ARG’s can be a good fit
for teaching and learning because they take place in spaces, both real
and online, that already exist and in which many students are already
comfortable. They can be scaled to fit – anything from an afternoon to
a whole semester. Subscribe to this blog,

or just check in from time to time between March 1st and 9th to watch
or play.
