Hi!
My name is Daniel and I am a environmental engineering master-student at the university of Luleå (LTU) in Sweden. I am currently looking for a open source distributed software which is capable of simulating coupled sewer and surface flow in a urban environment. I read about the study of the flood in Hull, has the code been tested in other urban areas with extensive sewer networks?
My idea for my master thesis would be to create a 1D sewer model in SWMM and couple it with Itzi for a small urban area and compare the result to a widely used commercial software. To see if Itzi could be used in some cases as an alternative tool for flood risk assessment.
I am also wondering how steep the learning curve is for GRASS and just general code management as I do not have any previous coding or GRASS experience. I have worked in SWMM and ArcGIS during my studies.
Best regards, Daniel Lundqvist
