Hey guys,

do you think there is a way to model coastal floods with Itzi? As far as I understood, you can not directly simulate sea level rise during a storm or waves incoming.
The only way I can imagine doing that is to assume the sea is a surface with height 0 in respect the coastline and then "induce rain" on this surface to make water rise.

Thanks guys.

Greetings

Hi Martin,

You can indeed set a water level to rise or fall by using a "User-defined water depth" boundary type. Beware that this will add or remove water from the domain to keep the exact water depth.
Also, be aware of the type of numerical scheme used by itzi. Depending on what you wish to represent, it might not be the best choice.

Regards,
Laurent
