A fixed armament of Soviet origin, the Spike Vanes are blades of Super Carbon affixed to Soviet TSFs, usually on their shoulder blocks. The edges of the Spike Vanes are sharpened to the point where a simple evasive maneuver will cause clean and deep cuts in at BETA it strikes, and combined with the high-maneuverability of Soviet TSFs like the MiG-29 Lastochka or Su-27 Zhuravlik, are devastating in close-range anti-BETA combat. Spike vane components can be found on other TSFs like the EF-2000 Typhoon or the Rafale, although they're not explicitly named as such.
The Muv-Luv version of the airplane that would carry Willem Dafoe to his final mission was the first TSA deployed to help combat the onslaught of BETA aliens. Rather than being optimized for aerial maneuverability, the A-6 Intruder is built for amphibious operations and is capable of transforming into a submersible vehicle. An A-6 normally travels to the battlefield affixed to the front of a small submarine. Once it arrives on the scene it detaches and floats to the surface so it can land on the shoreline and secure the area. The Japanese Imperial Army uses their own localized variant of the Intruder which they call the Type-81 / A-6J Wadatsumi (god of the sea). The A-6J appeared briefly in Muv-Luv Alternative and has also shown up in various side stories.
Honestly, I'm not really mad as I am disappointed. I bought this figure from Mandarake alongside the Type-97 Fubuki with OTH Cannon and ended up being really pleased with the latter. The Wadatsumi originally cost 6,000 yen but I was able to buy it for 3,000 yen (oddly enough the Fubuki was 1,500...) and for that price I am mostly satisfied with it. It's a good looking fixed-pose figure of an obscure design from Muv-Luv that stands out on my shelf and helps break up the (awesome) monotony of my Tactical Surface Fighter toys. I have certainly seen enough Japanese photo reviews to know that this figure can transform, but I just wish I could have better documented it here. These figures pop up here and there on Japanese stores and at around 3,000 yen I would say the Type-81 / A-6J Wadatsumi is an interesting curiosity for fans of the series regardless of whether it can utilize its singular gimmick. Definitely buy these with a bit of caution if you're expecting the transformation to work.
This is still, I think, my favorite design from Muv-Luv and seeing this for the first time marked the point at which I perked up my ears and thought, "Muv-Luv, eh?"
I'm still kind of crushed from learning that it was fixed pose. It's such a great design that can go toe to toe with the best amphibious mecha, it really deserves better. At least it's a piece that can make the other toys around it shine, and sometimes that's enough.
Hi, I've been trying to install muv-luv for a while now and it hasn't been very succesful. I'm running Windows 7 and have been in Japanese System Locale for this entire process.
I tried mounting the MUV_LUV_EXTRA.ccd with Daemon Tools Lite and SETUP.exe had the same error each time trying to install:
I'd really appreciate any advice on how to fix or an alternative download/installation source (TPB one seems to be the same as the fuwanovel version in terms of functionality). For reference, I've already tried a lot of googling and topics such as this I've already checked:
After a rough launch that led to a cancellation in service entirely, the mobile shooter gacha RPG Muv-Luv Dimensions is finally due to launch once more, this time with that critical error fixed and ready to play! This new Japan-exclusive shooter, based heavily on the Muv-Luv visual novel series, is gearing up to be one of the bigger gacha releases in Japan this year.
In this sense, Muv Luv Unlimited achieves a great deal more than its predecessor in much less time. Whereas Muv Luv Extra sticks to genre tropes and moulds, Muv Luv Unlimited does more than what it is expected to do by playing around with previously built relationships and understandings from the player. Getting through a somewhat forgettable first story arc is unfortunately necessary to fully appreciate what becomes a great second half. The tone changes quite dramatically due to the nature of this alternative universe and its theme, but it provides real drama and allows you to grow closer to characters than you were able to do previously beyond what the superficial, develop-by-numbers restricted tropes that the first arc employed.
How is it we install this? when i try to mount the muv-luv extra img file and run the setup it comes up with a error saying that the version is not compatible with the version of windows i am running, then when i try to run the Muv-Luv CDD file, the setup appears but when i press install it my AVG program blocks it saying its a trojan (file 11) and then the file gives F:(Japanese letters) 11.exe (Japanese letters) and then after hitting a popup more japanese letters appear :/
1. Copied all files from the muv-luv extra mounted disc into a temporary folder
2. Copied the file from the muv-luv unlimited mounted disc into the same folder
3. Ran the setup in that folder (not sure if this was of importance, because it gave me an error when I did it, but including it here just in case it was)
4. Ran the english patch again.
1) System in japanese (config windows)
2) Load the image muv-luv iso with daemon (but not install!!!!!!)
3) Download Patch and click. The patch say muv-luv is not installed and he install for you.
